The Newsletter is Out

We are excited about our April meeting. Beverly Wait will be coming to present "Genealogy 101" to our group. The date will be April 13th, 2010 at 7:00PM. We meet at Barnes & Noble in Midland, Texas. Please feel free to come and to bring friends!

Please let all your scrapbook friends know about PB & J. We want to grow this group so we can get bigger companies to send speakers and demonstrators.

Cinco de Mayo

Over the weekend several of us got together and did a greeting club workshop. One of the projects we did was actually a "Cinco de Mayo" scrapbook page. I love the Stampin' Up stamps "Cinco de Mayo" and all the fun projects you can do with them. Fiestas, birthdays, Mexican vacations, and music festivals are just a fee of the projects that come to my mind. Of course living in Texas and previously in New Mexico doesn't hurt.

Here is a page I made after the workshop. I will probably save it for the birthday of a young gal I know as her birthday just happens to fall on that day!

April Workshop

Gals,

Here is a picture of my "desktop caddy" workshop project I am planning. If you're interested in participating please email me at cerwelt@gmail.com. You can make this desk caddy for your mom for mother's day. It can also be made with more masculine paper and it can be a father's day gift. Fill it with some office supplies and make an inexpensive gift that says, "I love you" without breaking the bank.

April PB & J CD Jam Packed with Goodies

Hey Gals,

I'm a confessed computer geek, but I know many of you are clueless to finding and using things found on the Internet. I've been online since the early 80s and have been searching for great things to teach and share with my friends just about that long.

One of the things I do for the girls that come to the PB & J club meetings is to compile the latest printable pretties from the Internet and burn them to a monthly CD. Once I get in the habit of doing this again, I will include a text file listing all the goodies I've included. This month is so full of stuff it has three times as much as last month's. March was full of absolutely gorgeous Celtic borders, corners, embellishments as well as other printable pretty things. All the gals have to do is slide some white card stock into their printer trays, put the CD in their computers and pick and choose the PDF or other document they want to print and voila! I have a few left, but they go fast. I can also make copies should we run out.

April's CD has family trees that you can fill in and use as background for scrapbooks. I've also included a load of background papers you can print on regular copy paper and use for a variety of projects as well.

I've included some screen shots of a few of the cute papers and tags included in this CD. They are free on the websites I found them on, but I've done the work of finding and saving them to a CD for anyone who wants one to have one. I do charge $5.00 for the cost of the CD, the labels and envelopes, and know that whoever gets one will love it!
If I have orders ahead of time I can be sure and save one for you. If you aren't sure whether you're going to make the meeting, but want one you can email me at cerwelt@gmail.com. Please put PBJ CD in the subject line as I may not recognize your email address.

The CDs are just one more reason why you want to come to our really fun meetings. We also have door prizes and refreshments. Speaking of which, we need gals to bring refreshments and door prizes for April's meeting. Holler if you can help out with either one.

I'm about to send out the April PB & J Nuggets newsletter. I love writing and have done newsletters for myself, my clubs, a local TV network and the Permian Basin Jewels Paper Crafters club. I love sharing the things I enjoy doing. I love learning from other gals. If you have something you'd like to submit to upcoming newsletters, please send your articles to my email address. I will start a file with those articles and pull from it to fill up the newsletters with content from all you scrap happy gals.

Genealogy 101

Hey Gals,

We had our March meeting last night and really had a good time. I demonstrated one of my favorite "geeky" things; my Canon Selphy photo printer. The gals all decided they wanted one after we played around with it.

Next month we have a guest speaker, Sandra Wenger from the Midland Genealogical Society. She will be presenting "Genealogy 101". We want all of you to invite friends so we can give Sandra a real welcome. Archival scrapbooking is all about connecting leaves on the family tree. What better way to expand your scrapbooking vision than to add a little knowledge about genealogy?

We meet the second Tuesday of every month at Barnes & Noble in Midland, TX. Meetings begin at 7:00PM and we have refreshments and door prizes.

Come join in learning all about your favorite thing, your hobby. Come play with us.

A Week and A Day

Gals,

It's just a week and a day until our next PB & J meeting. We'll be sharing the benefits of "stand alone" photo printers. We meet March 9th at 7:00PM at Barnes & Noble in Midland, TX. Bring a friend and get an extra chance at the drawing for our door prizes. Refreshments will be served and we always have a blast.
